When to book a diagnosis
- The check engine light is on, or flashing.
- Other warning lights: ABS, battery, temperature or oil pressure.
- Rough idle, stalling, hesitation or loss of power.
- The car won't start, or cranks slowly.
- Electrical problems: dead battery overnight, lights or accessories acting up.
A code is a clue, not an answer
A scan tool shows a trouble code, but the code only says which system reported a problem. A misfire code, for example, can come from a spark plug, an ignition coil, a fuel injector or a vacuum leak.
We test the parts behind the code so you replace the part that actually failed, not three parts in a row.
A flashing check engine light usually means a severe misfire that can damage the catalytic converter. Drive as little as possible and call.
What you get
- The trouble codes and what they mean in plain words.
- What failed and why, based on testing, not guessing.
- A labor price for the fix before any work starts.
- The diagnosis fee comes off the repair if we fix it the same visit.

Questions
How much does a check engine light diagnosis cost in Douglasville?
A standard diagnosis is $95. Electrical and no-start problems are $150 because they take more testing. There is also a $45 service call per visit.
Is the diagnostic fee applied to the repair?
Yes, when the repair is done during the same visit.
Can I keep driving with the check engine light on?
If the light is steady and the car drives normally, it is usually safe to drive to a nearby appointment. If it is flashing, or the car runs badly, drive as little as possible and call.
Can a mobile mechanic diagnose my car at home?
Yes. We bring a professional scan tool and test equipment to your home or workplace.
